raffa's toddler room plans
I am thinking about making some updates to Raffa's room to transition it to a toddler room. It'll still be a while until we convert his crib to a toddler bed, but since I enjoy planning out rooms, the process of thinking about what I might do it part of the fun for me. As you may remember from the various nursery revisions, I can be a little fickle and I have to lay out things, change them up, and see it all come together over time until I finally have a space I am happy with. So you can consider this the first version of Raffa's toddler room, because I am certain I will come up with some variations before I implement a final plan.

5 things I wish I would have done when I was pregnant
I am to the point in Raffa's life where I feel extra sentimental about his days passed. Everyone said those days would come, but I disliked the newborn stage so much, I thought that I would never miss my baby being a newborn (even as sweet, cute, and wonderful he was as an infant). However, I see newborns and infants, and now I do indeed miss my baby (side note: this does not mean I want another baby).
Missing my newborn baby has two side effects. First, it makes me all the more determined to be mindful of every moment I have with Raffa now, because time is fleeting, and certainly I will look back upon these days and miss them terribly too. And, second, it makes me reminisce about the past. That brought me to a place where I was remembering being pregnant and a few things I wish I would have known back then.
#1 Don't spend so much time preparing.
I felt {self-imposed} pressure to prepare - to make lists of what I would need for my baby and organize those things once purchased. In the end, once Raffa was born, I needed very little of all that stuff and would have rather purchased what I needed as I went along to prevent buying things I didn't need.
That begs mentioning that in the beginning, all I would have needed was tons of diapers, a tall stack of clean, folded onesies, a couple swaddle blankets, two dozen burp cloths, comfortable clothes (for me), a sling, wrap, or Bjorn, my breast pump, and Raffa's bassinet. All the rest was peripheral and I didn't need it - I really could have just purchased all the rest of that stuff as it was needed.
#2 Don't read baby books or listen to advice.
This goes hand in hand with #1, not only would I buy less stuff to prepare but I would tune out any advice and not read baby books. I actually didn't read any books and I am so glad I did not. Nothing, and I truly believe nothing, can prepare you for being a mom. You can read every book from cover to cover, but until you meet your baby who is a one-of-a-kind, no-book-can-possibly-know individual, you will not know or be able to know what he or she needs. No book can predict what will be best for your baby, because just like every other human on this planet, each baby is completely unique. Those books are mostly pushing some very specific philosophy on taking care of a baby that they say is best, when in reality there is no right or wrong way. There is only what works best for you and your baby, and that is a personal journey you take with your baby to find out what that best is.
Furthermore, I know moms who are just more stressed out because of expectations that these books set that then their babies eating, sleeping, pooping, peeing, napping habits don't live up to. They think these books know their babies and feel like they fell short or failed. Not true at all.
People will offer well intentioned advice. Some people will offer stories or anecdotes meant to scare you. Neither are helpful for the same reasons mentioned above. Smile, nod, and ignore.
#3 Take a babymoon.
I would spend more time with my husband, enjoying him and my dog before our little bomb was dropped. And, we should have gone on a babymoon. We took a day trip to the Florida Keys, but that was more like, "well, we better go see the Keys once while we live in southern Florida because now we are leaving." We should have taking a fancy-schmancy-ish vacation. I know people who have done it and it's genius. And, who doesn't love a vacation?
#4 Take more photos of my pregnant self.
I have a few photos of myself pregnant, mostly thanks to social media (here and here and here and here, for example). But for almost ten months of my life I have surprisingly fewer photos of myself than one might expect, especially photos that show all of me - what I looked like when I was pregnant. Like everyday. You see I was a funny little pregnant lady running in just shorts and a sports bra in the Miami humidity, and I would love to have a photo of that to one day show {or torture} Raffa with.
This may sound impossible to some pregnant women, but I am speaking for me here. I had an easy, lovely, healthy, risk/scare-free pregnancy. I am not naive enough to think that this is the case for everyone, but since it was for me I should have spent time relishing that period of my life since that will be the only I will be pregnant.

back to school clothes
So Raffa obviously isn't of a back to school age, but like anyone his wardrobe needs updating when seasons change. Retailers are always way ahead of the seasons, and if you are like me you have been inundated with fall and back to school clothes emails and ads from various retailers. If you are also like me, in the not too distant future you will start fall clothes shopping because you are looking forward to the change of seasons.
So I did a little fall scoping for Raffa, or back to school you could say ... I haven't purchased yet because (1) sizing (babies grow too fast to buy that far out) and (2) sales (retailers always have sales on all of this stuff a month or two down the road).
But now I have compiled a list of things to go after and it includes:
vest to keep warm // Zara down vest $29.90
baseball tee // Slyfox Threads We Are Young Tee $25
sweatshirt // Prefresh sweatshirt $58
cords // GAP straight cords $29.95
skinny jeans // GAP Skinny jeans $29.95
more skinny jeans // GAP Skinny jeans $29.95
shoes // Van's Classic Slip On $29.95
pajama pants // Zara cat print trousers $15.90
pajama pants // Zara mask print trousers $15.90

custom design // feather + barnwood baby shower invitations
One of my dear friends is pregnant with her third child, she is actually due literally any day! In May, I had the honor of designing a sprinkle (as opposed to a shower) invitation for a little celebration in honor of her. Although I was not able to attend because we were in California, I was so glad to make the contribution of the above invitation. I worked with the mama-to-be, Jenny, and she gave me some direction on the scripty/hand-written typeface and helped me refine the watercolor feathers. I also worked with another close friend of ours to round out the invitation in terms of the block font and she also gave me the idea for the barnwood background.
The invitation included the barnwood on the back as well, and was paired with purple envelopes that matched purple of "evely love."
I love the way the invitation turned out - especially those feathers on the barnwood. But more importantly, Jenny loved it too. I sure wish I had been able to be there at the celebration! And, I cannot wait to meet Miss Evely Love!
update: I just found out this morning that Evely has arrived! Yesterday she made her way into this world. Welcome, Evely!

hey!
Hey there! We are just getting ready for our trip to California. We are heading there for my sister's wedding and we will be gone for a little over a week.
I don't necessarily plan on posting here on the blog while we are gone, but I am not completely ruling it out either. I will certainly be Instagramming (so follow me @chloechristinemarty), and will hopefully have some great photos to share when we get back.
In the meantime, I wanted to say have a great weekend and I thought I would quickly share Raffa's first birthday party thank you notes. They match the theme of his party and have the same lettering as his invitations. I loved this goofy photo of him that my sister captured, so it was a perfect fit for thank you post cards to let everyone know that we really appreciated and enjoyed having them celebrate with us.

raffa is turning one // first birthday invitations
Raffa's first birthday party is tomorrow! What an exciting milestone and such a fun party to plan. These are the invitations I designed for the event.
And now, the party is here! It is tomorrow. We are all ready for it! I did end up following this plan for his party; I even made that banner for the occasion.
I realize that Raffa may not remember his first birthday and its party, but all of us who love him are so excited to celebrate him!
The invitations were a simply black and white with lettering to match his banner - hand cut letters. I included a very appropriate enthusiastic photo of Raffa. The back of the invitation features a pattern of asymmetrical diamond shapes. I opted to have the envelopes hand lettered and then I made return address labels with the same hand cut lettering as the invitation.
So, let the celebrations begin! It all started yesterday with the start of the #raffasturningonegiveaway {don't miss it! it ends May 11th}.

bicycle baby shower
Our trip to Durango was absolutely fabulous. We had a lovely time and enjoyed some nice weather. I got to get some Durango running in, we went on a hike, and we just enjoyed feeling like we were "home" for a few days. The purpose of my trip, as I mentioned last week, was a baby shower for a dear friend. I co-hosted the shower with another best friend.
The shower had a bicycle theme (remember the invitation I shared last week) and I made various paper pieces of decor for our theme. In addition to the invitations we had cupcake toppers (that we actually used as sandwich toppers), food cards to identify the various food items (sandwich "flavors", beverages, etc.), wrappers for the chocolate bar party favors, some fill-in letters to the baby, and an 11x14" print that we had guests sign like a guest book.
My pieces were only a small part of the puzzle and the care and love that my co-host put into the shower brought everything together.
I am considering offering this whole bicycle theme baby shower package in my Etsy shop, but I am putting feelers out there to see if it something that would interest people. What do you think?
We are heading back to Denver today. Bittersweet, as usual, as I always feel most at home in Durango. We likely won't have an opportunity to go back until mid-summer.

custom design // bicycle baby shower invitations
Raffa and I are headed to Durango tomorrow because I am co-hosting a baby shower for a dear friend of mine there. And, I thought I would share the invitations I designed for the shower today.
A navy, yellow, and gray bicycle theme is the direction we went with the invitations because that is the theme of baby Peter's nursery. The invitation was a simple design, with a hand script and modern block font, and a whimsical bicycle illustration, which will be carried over to several pieces at the shower (favors, food name plates, etc.). We went with gorgeous navy envelopes and yellow wrap around labels. Gray and white polka dot washi tape sealed the envelopes. For postage, we went with several smaller denominations for a fun look; the guy at the post office looked at me like I was crazy when I told him I wanted to do this. Ha!
I am so excited to be going to Durango; we haven't been since January and I am hoping for some lovely spring weather. We will certainly catch up with lots of friends, go to some favorite places, and hopefully get out on some hikes. My mom is coming with us, and so the three of us - Raffa, Mimi, and me - will spent Easter today; certainly a bummer not to be with the whole family for Easter, but I am sure we will have a lovely Easter in Durango.
By the way, these baby shower invitations are available for purchase and customization in my Etsy shop.

Last week I shared a logo revision I did for Taking Cara babies and in the meantime, John and I have been working on the sleep schedule that Cara helped us formulate. John's sleep is one of those things that I fret over ... I am always wanting to make sure he gets enough. I feel like, and science supports my feeling that good sleep is super important for a baby's growth and development.
So for me, I can overanalyze and even agonize over it, but I must also say that I am blessed with a good sleeper. John sleeps twelve hours a night and I takes one good nap a day usually. As I mentioned last week, I sought Cara's help because I felt that John needed two naps each day and although he was sleeping twelve hours, those hours were 5:30pm to 5:30am and I wanted to transition them to 7pm to 6:30/7am. In the process I feel like I know so much more about what I need to do, but as usual, have so much less control over things than I would like. Ha!
For you moms out there, what are the things you agonize about or overthink?
I would love for andCHLOE to become a space where we can support each other, share ideas, and have a dialog .... about things like this and other non-baby/non-parenting topics as well. I have often included a question at the end of my blog posts, but now I am saying it bluntly: I really really really encourage you to chime in. Let me know you are reading and let me know your opinion.
I have been doing a little design work for Cara of Taking Cara Babies ... in addition to her logo revision, I made that cute little seal above for her. I love how this seal turned out and I am thinking of all sorts of applications for it with a little text/content change.

mama + son style
I thought I would occasionally add a new element to my fashion posts here on the blog where I not only share my clothing choices, but what my little man wears along side me as well. So today is the first of its kind and this is what John and I could be seen in last week when we were enjoying the warm sunshine.
I wore:
Truly Madly Deeply Tee // this is a wonderful, basic white slouchy tee ... at a good price point
Madewell Inlet Cardigan
AG Skinny Ankle Jeans
Onitsuka Tiger sneakers
Oakley Frogskins sunglasses
John wore:
Prefresh Rad tee {sold out // but so many other good options from Prefresh}
nuunuu leggings
Freshly Picked emerald moccs (no longer available, but plenty of other gorgeous colors are)

DRESSING JOHN AT 9 MONTHS
I had shared some of my favorite basic clothing for newborns back before little John was born. He did indeed end up getting good use out of all those items. With spring right around corner and in conjunction with growth spurts like crazy, I am updating John's wardrobe.
For a little crawler, I find soft casual tees and leggings to be the most comfortable. This winter John has lived in long sleeve tees or sweatshirts and leggings ... and his Freshly Picked moccs.
For the coming season, his wardrobe will be largely the same, but we will trade long sleeves for short. And, I prefer to support small handmade businesses when it makes sense to do so and it just so happens that small businesses make some of the best and most stylish baby clothing. I am not a fan of the typical fare you find at Target, the GAP, etc. I find that many small businesses, many of which are on Etsy, are much more our style.
These are a few of our favorite items from some of our favorite brands.
WILD HEARTS FOREVER sleep all day // party all night tee (this is my and my sister's tee company for our wild hearted little so naturally John will be rocking our tee)
Prefresh We Own the Future tee
Zara printed leggings
AIMbaby crown leggings
Prefresh Suns Out Guns Out tee
SlyFox Threads Like a Boss tee
AIMbaby geo tribal leggings
Our Little Lullaby tiger leggings
koolabah organic striped hoodie
Freshly Picked moccs in Prince George and Weathered Brown
You can also find items that I purchase or covet for little John's wardrobe on my Pinterest board created for that purpose.

feeding the baby :: 6-9 months :: introducing solids
Today I want to share with my mommy and mommy-to-be and future-to-be-mommies my experiences in introducing little John to solid foods. What I give him and how I introduced those foods are the focus of today's post including why I make the choices I do. I have also sprinkled in some of John's favorite recipes that I make for him.
I have had many questions about how I feed John (not that it is revolutionary), so I wanted to address it. The information I am sharing is what works for us; please let your own baby, intuition, and knowledge be your guide in feeding your baby. Consult a trusted pediatrician, as well as other sources, to craft a diet for your little one. However, my hope is that this post will be a helpful piece in that puzzle as to how to feed your baby healthy, nourishing, whole foods.
I have heard that you can start feeding baby solids at four months; and in fact that is the information our pediatrician gave us. However, I have also read much more recently that baby should be six months old before solids are introduced. Several studies, like this one referenced in this Huff Post article, have found that four months is indeed too early. This Kelly Mom article says that studies have found that delaying the introduction of solid foods until at least six months gives your baby's digestive system more time to mature, lessens your baby's risk of sickness, reduces the likelihood of allergies and future obesity, and correlates to more success with introducing solids.
A little background on my journey to feed my little John ... I was looking forward to John starting solids for one main reason: formula. I was unable to breastfeed him after four months. It is something that is still very difficult for me to accept and it is something that I literally struggle with on a daily basis, but around the time John was four months old my milk supply began to decrease. First the left boob decreased, and then it dried up. Then the right; and then there was no more milk. I am fairly certain that it was caused by stress; and in hindsight I can think of ways I could have grasped at straws to get my milk back up. At the time, I did try several things including extra pumping and taking Fenugreek. Unfortunately, nothing worked; my milk was gone. I had to turn to formula. We chose a milk-based, organic, non-GMO formula (Whole Foods' 365 brand) and it worked well for us in that John drank it and did not have any issues with the dairy. I spent two months trying out homemade formula recipes as well, but never found an alternative that worked well enough for us (that's a post for another day).
I was eager to feed John solids because I was not jazzed about him drinking formula. Shelf-stable formula from a can icks me out. And, although I had no other practical alternative and know many mothers must turn to formula as well; I personally still do not believe it is a great option. I simply see at as the only other option (I realize there are breast milk banks, but the cost, safety, and reliability did not make it an option for me; nor do I believe it is a viable option for many mothers).
INTRODUCING VEGGIES
I did wait until John was six months old to introduce solids, and we have had nothing short of success. As recommended, I introduced foods one at a time. I opted to start with vegetables and minimize introduction of fruits; my reasoning being that he would certainly always like sweet flavors, but I wanted him to take to other savory, vegetable flavors quickly and easily too.
The sweeter side of vegetables worked well for us, and it was obvious that sweet potato and squash were favorites. I also found that John did not care for many of the packaged baby foods, of which I always bought organic. Many times I would give him a vegetable from a packaged baby food and he would turn it away. However, the same veggie cooked at home was eaten. I don't blame the guy, packaged baby foods, organic or not, just aren't that appetizing. A side note, I also find that any of the packaged baby foods that have fruit, even when mixed with vegetables, taste ridiculously sweet, so we avoided any fruit-containing baby foods.
John quickly decided that the sweet potatoes/yams that I made for him were a favorite.
little John's sweet potatoes/yams
INTRODUCING CEREALS
I hesitated to do cereals too much as I have read that grains are very difficult to digest (for adults let alone babies). We tried a couple of cereals; I liked happy bellies cereal okay, but quickly just starting processing my own grains (oatmeal) in the food processor to make a fine cereal. Once John was able to eat slightly chunkier foods (around 7 months), we graduated to Bob's Red Mill 7-Grain Cereal.
In the beginning I would mix John's cereal with breast milk (I had a stockpile in the freezer from before I dried up) or prepared formula and coconut oil. Soon I started adding other flavors, like the apple puree mentioned above, mashed banana, yogurt, or some combination thereof.
JOHN'S DIET AT 8 1/2 MONTHS
John very quickly took to solid food. He has a big appetite and enjoys eating. He was able to eat rather rough and chunky purees; and despite having no teeth, around 7 1/2 months he was able to start eating very small bites of food.
From 7 1/2 months on John was eating a good variety of foods (no longer single or two-ingredient purees) and now he eats some solid food at each meal. Some of the staples in his diet are:
INTRODUCING OTHER BEVERAGES
John still drinks formula, as it is recommended that a baby drink breast milk or formula until at least age one. He typically drinks formula in the morning when he first wakes up, before his naps, after lunch to wash his food down, throughout the day if he gets hungry, and before bed.
I am also working on teaching John to drink out of a sippy cup. I give him plain water or coconut water in sippy cups, typically no more than 1-2 ounces at a time and usually once a day.
WHAT'S THE POINT + FOLLOW YOUR BABY'S LEAD
Again, please be aware that this is what worked for little John. All babies are different as to how they respond to solids, whether they like certain things, and what size of bites or level of purees they can handle. John is an amazing eater; he is the perfect case study for how to feed your baby if they just love food and will eat pretty much anything you give them. Not all babies will enjoy solids at first, many babies will have strong dislikes, and some may refuse solids all together.
My utmost priority is to provide John with the best and most nutritious foods possible. However, I also think it is important to help him explore the world of solid foods and learn that those healthy foods are also delicious. I am completely against feeding babies and children those typical "kid menu" foods like mac and cheese, chicken fingers, grilled cheese, etc. Although I am sure John will enjoy those foods, I want him to eat healthier and more balanced than what those types of meals provide. Furthermore, I want him to develop a varied palate where he can enjoy most if not all of the same foods we do.
When we eat meals, even now John eats what we eat. I give him whatever size pieces I know he can handle. To date John has enjoyed all of the foods I mentioned above and has also enjoyed quiche, ground bison, ground beef, bolognese sauce, chicken, cod, halibut, creamed spinach and kale, and many more. He has also enjoyed treats like scones, ice cream, cake, and cookies (I don't deprive John of the sweets that I indulge in).

- 3 large sweet potatoes or yams scrubbed clean
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- pinch of Celtic sea salt
Pierce the sweet potatoes several times with a fork. Wrap in foil and roast at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for approximately 50-75 minutes, until they are soft. Let potatoes cool down enough to handle; cut into 1" cubes. In a food processor, combine cubed sweet potatoes, coconut oil (heat over low heat in saucepan if solid), and Celtic sea salt. Process until desired smoothness is achieved. John was great with solids, so I did not find it necessary to over puree the potatoes. Also, I opted to leave the skins on, but if your baby has difficulty with thicker purees and/or tiny chucks/flecks of skin you may need to more thoroughly puree and/or peel the skin off the potatoes. After roasting, the skin will peel off very easily. Occasionally, I would also add a mild curry spice or cinnamon to the sweet potatoes for a different flavor. Both were a hit.
Divide puree into baby food storage containers; I use these - they are a handy portion size - at six months John could finish one 2 oz. container of puree. I typically put some of the containers in the fridge and some in freezer, depending on how much John would likely eat. I did not leave them in the fridge for more than 3 days. Let cool to room temperature before putting in the fridge/freezer.
INTRODUCING FRUITS
Once I started to introduce fruit, as I said, I avoided all packaged baby foods with fruits and exclusively made John's fruit foods at home. His favorite was and continues to be pureed apples with dates and cinnamon.

INTRODUCING FRUITS
Once I started to introduce fruit, as I said, I avoided all packaged baby foods with fruits and exclusively made John's fruit foods at home. His favorite was and continues to be pureed apples with dates and cinnamon.
little John's apples with cinnamon
- 4-5 organic apples of any preferred variety (I have used Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Crisp Pink, Gala, etc.; and I often use a variety)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 4 organic dates, preferably soft or soak in water to soften
Peel and core apples. Chop into 1" pieces. Place in a sauce pan and cover with water. Add cinnamon and stir. Place apples over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Watch closely and boil until apples are tender.
Place boiled apples and soft dates into a food processor and process until desired smoothness is achieved.
Divide puree into baby food storage containers; again, I use these. And, again, I typically put some of the containers in the fridge and some in freezer, depending on how much John would likely eat. I did not leave them in the fridge for more than 3 days. Let cool to room temperature before putting in the fridge/freezer.
At six months John would eat this apple puree plain. Around seven months we started adding it to other things, like cereal and eventually yogurt.
- organic Greek yogurt (I always opt for full fat organic yogurts and purposely avoid nonfat/skim yogurts)
- plain Noosa yogurt (I find the flavored Noosa yogurt to be too sweet and many contain honey, so we only go with the plain) with apple puree mixed in (John can now eat an entire container of yogurt for breakfast)
- waffles very lightly toasted (we like Nature's Path brand - any without honey - the pumpkin spice is amazing) with a very generous amount of coconut oil in place of syrup ... the waffle is more of a vehicle for the coconut oil in this case, but many of the Nature's Path brand have some good stuff in them
- Bob's Red Mill 7-Grain Cereal with mix-ins (could be yogurt, apple puree, mashed banana, etc.)
- eggs - we prefer yolks for their amazing health benefits - the choline and cholesterol are essential to brain development, and yolks are also high in iron and DHA
- smoothies made from some combination of coconut milk, coconut oil, protein powder (I like Tera's Whey), fresh fruit, and Greek yogurt
A note about coconut oil - it is amazing! It is a wonderful healthy fat and has many health benefits. I use it frequently for John's meals; it adds nutrition but also imparts a delicious creamy flavor. I add it to his sweet potatoes (like in the recipe above), put it on waffles, and put it in cereal and yogurt.
He has also enjoyed treats like scones, ice cream, cake, and cookies (I don't deprive John of the sweets that I indulge in).
cod with tomato, sweet potato, and cheddar
- baked small cod fillet
- glass jar of tomato sauce
- roasted, purred sweet potato
- cheddar
I bake the cod fillet after lightly salting and peppering it. Once cool, I flake the fish and proceed to mash it so that it is of a size and consistency that John can enjoy. Then, to taste, I combine mashed cod, tomato sauce, pureed sweet potato. I sprinkle cheddar on top and zap it in the microwave just to melt the cheese. Then, mix it all together. I make the individual ingredients for this ahead of time, but refrain from mixing them until the mealtime at which John will eat them.
Not being able to breastfeed John past four months was, to put it frankly, devastating. As I mention, I "haunts" me to this day. Either way, whether I had been able to breast feed to one month, four, or two years, what John eats is just as important to me. I hope you found this post to be helpful. I am no expert, but I am a mom doing my very best to give my son the very best. If you have any questions, I am always glad to lend my experience; please do not hesitate to reach out in the comments below or email me (see my email in the right sidebar).

AIMbaby shop now open + win a REMEMBER the day print
I have talked about my sister's business, AIMbaby here and here when I was working with her on her logo and branding. So you may or may not know that AIMbaby sells hand-sewn cotton leggings screen printed with non-toxic inks for little ones. My sister dreams up the designs and I make them digital for her.
She launched her shop last week with her first two designs: hearts and triangles on heather gray. Sizes range from newborn to 24 months. Little John loves his; we {of course} have several pairs.
To celebrate her launch and incentivize a sale, the first one of my blog readers who purchases a pair of AIMbaby leggings will receive a 8x10" REMEMBER the day fine art print as a free gift with purcahse. I will update this post when a pair has been purchased and the REMEMBER the day has been awarded.
UPDATE: The REMEMBER the day print has been awarded to the &chloe reader who purchased a pair of AIMbaby leggings. This gift with purchase giveaway is now closed!

humor me one more time...
I swear. I promise. Last one. Last change. Maybe.
So, I had two cribs on Monday and I thought I had picked the white one. That is until I saw the caravan crib from Kalon Studios on the littlest blog.
Decisions. Decisions. This one also converts to a toddler bed. And, I feel like it has a fantastic scandanavian feel. A little more unique than the Babyletto Hudson crib?
Help me. Please.
{see the sources for all other nursery items on Monday's post}

nursery plans 4.0
How many times am I going to change up the plans for little John's nursery, you ask? Well, I suppose as many times as I want until I actually have to put his nursery together. That time is coming soon, as we are getting carpet for his nursery next week; then it will be installed and then it is time to {finally} make his nursery. At that point my decisions must be made.
As I am nearing a time where I need to place orders for the pieces I want in his nursery, I just wasn't quite feeling the last design I had come up with back in June {holy moly, it is time to get this kid his nursery finished!}. I have been feeling the mid-Century modern aesthetic {of course} but I wanted a more minimalist, more Scandinavian feel {I have been inspired by this nursery, this nursery, and this nursery along with countless more I should share in a post of their own, all of which I pinned}.
So my latest nursery vision is here with a facelift that attempts to capture this direction I want to go.
no. 1 Blu Dot Stilt Lamp
no. 2 Babyletto Skip crib {top} or Babyletto Hudson crib in white {bottom}.
no. 3 Calder style black metal mobile
no. 4 crib sheet by iviebaby on Etsy
no. 5 Love You nightlight by Owly Shadow Puppets
no. 6 Eames® Elephant in white from Design Within Reach
no. 7 Union Rug by Pattern Society
no. 8 mid-century dresser refinished by my Mom
no. 9 For Like Ever wood cut sign
no. 10 Alpaca Apple Pillow by Oeuf {to bring out the red cord in the lamp}
no. 11 Ursa wooden bears from Tweek Studio
What do you think? I would love input on which crib you like better.
