a portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014

Raffa has discovered a love of Sesame Street. It started when he was sick, which actually slowed him down enough that he sat on the couch and watched some Sesame Street. But, now that he is well again, he still wants to watch it. Whenever we are home he asks me to turn the TV on ("Elmo? Elmo?"  or "Uh uh uh" as he points at the TV Typically he'll sit and watch it for about 5 minutes and then he will get down and play, although he still wants Sesame Street on in the background. It makes diaper changes much easier, too, I can get him to lay down and still if we change the diaper on the floor in front of the TV.

I loved Sesame Street when I was little. And, it is really a neat show. But it does concern me that Raffa wants me to turn the TV on whenever we are home.

Glad you're all on the mend! The TV battle never gets easier but you sure can't go wrong with Sesame. We've started some simple family games to avoid TV in the evenings and it's fun, educational, and so guilt-relieving for me as a mom. I've been happy to hear lots of moms have similar TV philosophies and that Ben won't be the only tortured soul without cable.;)
