Also, it has been a long time since I shared some REMEMBER the day™ designs! Here are some more recent designs from the past month or so.

kane is one // birthday invitations, cake topper, banner, food cards

Inspired by Raffa's first birthday invitations, Tarika had me customize the invitations for Kane's first birthday party in San Francisco. In addition to invitations and return address labels, Tarika had me do some food table cards, a template for a banner, and a super duper cute cake topper.

It looks like this birthday party came together perfectly, and I love being a part of a special even such as a little one's first birthday party. My paper goods were beautifully complimented by the Golden Gate Bridge backdrop, and I would say they were over shadowed by the way-too-cute birthday boy!

frenzy

Remember back when I was taking courses at the Art Institute {I miss those classes; sigh}? Well, I just heard from one of my professors yesterday, and they want to print and hang one of my class projects in the ground offices of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh {that's where the online division is based out of}.

The class was Design & Typography, which not surprisingly was one of my most enjoyed classes. The final project was a type in motion storyboard - a movie trailer that previews the movie using moving type. I selected the 1972 Hitchcock film, FRENZY {I don't believe I have told you, but I am a Hitchcock fan - Rear Window, is probably my favorite.}.

It was definitely nice to be asked to have my work displayed. And, it was especially fun to go back through my school work and remember the different projects I worked on in this class {here is another project from this class ... I still love how this one turned out, too}.

strength of my love

I have had this print in my Etsy shop since I "opened' it ... an absolutely beautiful statement about a mother's love for the baby growing in her tummy.

Goodness, just typing that gives me goosebumps!

Anyways, I loved this statement and could only imagine how special its message would be to a new mother. Hence why I created the typographic print that is in my shop.

When my sister found out she was expecting her first child, my whole family was over the moon. My excitement for my sister and my own joy at becoming an aunt, warranted that every holiday since we found out, I have given my sister a meaningful gift related to her and her baby. For her birthday in May, I customized the "strength of my LOVE" print with my sister's first sonogram photo of her baby. I did not share this project at the time (back in May) because the joyous news was still among family at that time. However, I came across the photos of the design today and I wanted to share...

So, that sweet little man is my nephew, who will be making his arrival in August. My open-ended plane ticket is already booked!

Some typographic concepts I am working on for Nectar - to evoke strong, beautiful women. The first uses just one typeface, while the second uses a bunch of different typefaces. And, hey -- I got to use this palette!
