June is here; has been for a week. In Denver we skipped spring, it felt like, and it seemed as if February lasted for three months. So to say that June is a welcome sight is an understatement!

Wait, what? It's February? Already?! Why yes, yes it is.

Just like last month (and for each month this year), I am collaborating with my friend Jenny to bring you a desktop image and printable (5x7" print and bookmark). February's design, inspired by Robert Frost's, "The best way out is always through..." is up and available for download on the PRETTYblog now. Head over to her blog to get it!

january 2015

This year, each month, I will be collaborating with my dear friend Jenny to bring you a desktop background, 5x7" print, and bookmark printable each month (similar to the calendars I did for Blog a la Cart in 2013).

Each month, I will create a design around a quote that speaks to me ... Jenny will make the designs and printables available on her blog.

I was a little slow getting going this month, so January's went live on Jenny's blog, the PRETTY blog, yesterday. You can get the image above for your desktop background, and you can download a printable PDF that has the 5x7" print and bookmark.

This quote really spoke to me for the journey I am currently on with my family. It seemed especially appropriate for January, a time where we tend to reflect on the year past and make plans, cement hopes, and craft dreams for the year ahead. I try to live present, enjoy the present, and not live in the future at the expense of appreciating the now. That can be difficult. And, this quote makes a good point about all that. We don't know what our future holds; sometimes everything turns out how we expect it to, but other times it doesn't. Those other times can turn out to be so much better than we ever imagined.

So, this quote acts as a reminder to me ...

And it is December. How did this happen exactly? I cannot believe it. If other months went by quickly, I think November went by even quicker.

Just as I love November, I love December, too. My birthday is coming up ... and then Christmas! It should be an exciting Christmas - little John's first. And we will be enjoying the holiday with family, which means more cousin time for the Marty and Markoff boys! I hope to take a trip to Durango some time this month (for the holiday?), but we will see if that works out or not.

I always enjoy my editorial calendar for December, too, because I typically throw in some holiday decor round-ups, some holiday card designs, and my gift guide {gift guide starts TOMORROW!}.

november

I always love November ... I love it because of the anticipation of the holidays. I love Thanksgiving.

While designing this month's calendar, I had Thanksgiving in mind ... or maybe it would be more accurate to say that I had thanksgiving in mind; not capitalized because it wasn't so much the holiday I had in mind but the act of thoughtful reflection on the people and circumstances in my life that I am thankful for.

Ash at Blog a la Cart has had an eventful year over on her farm ... eventful in very difficult ways, but as life goes, with lots of joyful moments thrown in. I thought a lot about her and her family as designed this calendar. And, also I thought a lot about my own circumstances. November is a good reminder for me to stop and be mindful.

July is here! Wow!

Tomorrow we are heading to Durango for a few weeks ... we will spent the holiday there, catch up with lots of Durango friends, get in some trail running and mountain biking, and all  that kind of good stuff. I am sure to be busy on Instagram, so follow me on there if you don't already. My posting may be a little sparse during our little Durango vacay, but I will be here as usual too.

The official arrival of summer comes this month. Can you believe it is June? I, for one, cannot, but I am looking forward to a Colorado summer! It is crazy to remember that last June we were getting ready to head off to Florida. What a difference a year makes, huh? Here we are a year later, back in Colorado with our boy.
