2014 holiday gift guide

In my family, we have do not do a big exchanging of gifts except in the case of little ones. The little ones get gifts from family and Santa, but the rest of us just contribute a few items to each person's stocking. Going light on the Christmas gifts really simplifies things and allows me to focus on aspects of the holidays that are a bigger priority for me: spending quality time with people I love, enjoying downtime at home with the beautiful decorations, and focusing with a thankful heart the blessings in my life.

I am not big on gift giving as an obligatory, reactionary, or reflexive institution. I do enjoy giving well-thought out gifts that genuinely reflect the gifter and giftee. So it is in that spirit that I put together the gift guide on my blog each year.

Over the course of this week I will share a gift guide each day as follows:

tomorrow [tuesday] // december 2, 2014 // for the men in your life :: the husband, significant other, best friend, brother, etc. gift guide

wednesday // december 3, 2014 // for your mom :: she's so special, she deserves her own guide

thursday // december 4, 2014 // for your sister and/or best friend :: sometimes these are one in the same and either way this lovely lady in your life deserves something special

friday // december 5, 2014 // for the little ones :: the baby and small children gift guide

I am really excited about the gift guide, as I worked hard to curate gifts that are unique and lovely. All items in the gift guide are ones that I would love to give or receive. Prices vary from inexpensive and stocking stuffers to larger investment pieces. I would love to know if you find anything in the gift guide that you can't live without for yourself or someone else, so let me know in the comments if that is the case!

For fun, take a look at past gift guides: 2011 // 2012 // 2013 (forgive any formatting issues that did not transfer from previous blog design)
