what I wear :: pregnant ... or not

So, the cat's out of the bag, so they say. I 'm knocked up.

Four and half months in, I was still wearing and buttoning my regular jeans. I kept wondering when I was going to need maternity clothes. Now at roughly 5 months, my regular jeans fit, but not comfortably. I have finally snapped up a couple pairs of maternity jeans ... all my favorite brands make some limited maternity styles. And, luckily many of my other favorite wardrobe staples still work quite nicely. So, although I am finally dressing for maternity, my wardrobe has not changed significantly, nor have I needed to buy tons of new clothes.

So today's outfit is one I can imagine that I will wear on a regular basis for the coming months, but it is also an outfit I have worn before I was pregnant and I am sure to wear after.

The formula goes something like this:

favorite tee {LNA short-sleeve crewneck}
+
skinny jeans {like these 7 For All Mankind maternity now, or some regular 7 For All Mankind skinnies if you aren't preggers}
+
cute, colorful scarf {I just found this one from KarmaLoop - only $15! see some other of my favorites below}
+
comfortable flats {like these Minnetonka Kitty moccasins or colorful ballet flats, simple ballet flats or flip flops ... see them all below, too}
+
simply, understated jewelry {my favorite Emerson Fry necklace - similar here}

Like I said, this happen to be a lot what my wardrobe looked like before I was pregnant, but it is comfortable and cute for while I grow a baby, too.

With just a couple pairs of jeans, a well-fitting tee in several colors, a couple of fun scarves, two pairs of flats to rotate, and my favorite necklace I have a whole everyday wardrobe. Shop all these items here:
